Tax Manager (m/f/d) based in Düsseldorf
Key Information at a Glance:
- Annual gross salary between €85,000 and €100,000, depending on qualifications
- Hybrid work model: 2 days/week home office
- 37.5 hours/week

Your Responsibilities:
- Serve as the primary point of contact for tax matters in the region, providing ongoing advice to the business in close collaboration with the finance team and external advisors
- Ensure full compliance with all tax obligations
- Handle VAT returns, Intrastat reporting, and reconciliation of tax payments
- Review corporate income tax returns prepared by external providers
- Manage other relevant tax topics such as local taxes, energy taxes, etc.
- Prepare monthly income tax accruals and other tax-related accounting entries for reporting purposes
- Actively participate in the preparation and submission of annual financial statements, including shareholder resolutions and statutory filings
- Support external and internal auditors on tax-related matters
- Oversee transfer pricing documentation, monitoring, and business model reviews; provide support for M&A transactions
- Act as the main point of contact for tax audits and manage communication with tax authorities
- Provide regular updates to the European Tax Director on key tax matters, risks, and ongoing projects
- Contribute to the implementation of SAP S/4HANA with regard to tax processes
- Support tax strategy development and process improvement initiatives in cooperation with finance teams and the European Tax Director
Your Profile:
- University degree in economics or law with a focus on taxation, or completed vocational training as a tax clerk with further qualification as a tax specialist or equivalent
- At least 7 years of professional experience in taxation in an international environment, ideally within the manufacturing industry
- In-depth knowledge of German and international tax law, especially demonstrated experience in transfer pricing
- Experience with M&A transactions is highly desirable
- Fluent in German and English (minimum C1 level)
- Proficient in Excel and experienced with SAP
- Solid knowledge of energy taxes, customs regulations, and tax reporting tools (e.g., ELSTER)
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with confidence in interacting with internal and external stakeholders
- Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities
- Self-driven, hands-on, and able to work independently
